About CC2K

CC2K is an independent site of film, television and video-game commentary, launched in 2026 with entirely new writing.

We write retrospectives: pieces that look back at films, series and games with the benefit of time. The aim is not to re-review a release on the terms of its opening week, but to ask how it has aged, what it changed, and what the story of its making tells us about how popular entertainment gets made.

Independent and new

CC2K is an independent publication. It is not connected to any studio, network, distributor or game publisher, and it is not affiliated with any former publication of a similar name. Everything on the site was written fresh for this site in 2026; nothing has been carried over from any earlier website that may have used this name or address.

We do not attend press screenings, we have not interviewed the people whose work we discuss, and we do not claim access to unpublished scripts or behind-the-scenes material. Our pieces work from what is broadly public: release dates, credits, how a film or series was received, and the development histories that have been widely reported over the years. Where something is uncertain or disputed, we say so or leave it out.

• Games: downloadable content, design trends and the direction of the medium.

The site is text-only by choice. It loads quickly, it reads well on a phone, and it keeps the focus on the argument rather than the artwork.
