Television
Essays on the series that defined their seasons, and the networks that did or didn’t let them breathe.
Television has a way of rewriting its own history. A show cancelled after a season becomes a cult favourite; a hit that dominated conversation fades from memory once its finale airs. Behind many of those stories sit scheduling choices, channel moves and renewal decisions that viewers only ever saw from the outside.
This section revisits those series and seasons from today’s perspective: what made a show feel fresh, where a format started to repeat itself, and why some of the best work on television found its audience late, or not at all.
